Emulation of the Updated CANARIE Backbone Network Topology Under IPv6 Up to 2022

The National Research and Education Networks or Advanced implemented in all countries the world are alternative Internet to commercial which was developed for education experimental purposes beginning with 2. Our interest is study CANARIE topology after 27 years of foundation pan-Canadian advanced network now interconnects thirteen provinces territories country. In this work a connectivity management emulation updated 2022 backbone under IPv6 protocols. So, emulator GNS3, Wireshark, iReasoning MIB browser, Virtual Box Kali Linux were required emulated infrastructure using best possible approximation available resources, considering that real overly expensive just supported by internet service providers. Results successful tests, showing no significative changes when Canada expanded its network. Emulation uses lot CPU RAM but it also shows some limitations GNS3 comparing bandwidth scenarios. maintains important connections support international projects other networks GEANT Europe, APAN Asia, AFRICACONNECT through CLARA Latin America Internet2 USA. Emulating characterizing around equipment only Service Provider companies.
